A great success for Giant Grassroots program and Equipo Kern Pharma
Daniel Yip wins the Asian junior championship
The Grassroots Program, Giant and Equipo Kern Pharma’s initiative to develop young cyclists, is beginning to bear its first results. Daniel Yip, who has been part of the project for the past year, won the Asian junior championships this Thursday.
Daniel Yip (2007, Hong Kong), was one of the seven cyclists selected by Grassroots in the second edition of the program. For two weeks in May, he took part in an intensive training camp in Pamplona with Equipo Kern Pharma and Equipo Finisher, where, with the support of Giant, he trained with the team’s riders and underwent several specific tests and trials, including mountain climbs, technical ability and time trials.
After an evaluation, Yip was one of those chosen to move on to the next phase of the project and spent several weeks in Spain with Equipo Finisher in the summer. He was then able to continue training and competing in races in his category, with the goal of continuing to grow and develop on Giant bikes.

“Being part of the Giant Grassroots Program has been a game-changer for me. I got to meet and train with riders from all over the world, compete internationally and learn from professionals. It has taught me a lot and broadened my horizons”, says Daniel Yip after his triumph.
“I put everything I’ve learned into practice at today’s competition and I’m stoked about the great results I achieved. I can’t wait to keep showing off dedication, teamwork and passion it’s taught me. I’m super proud to have been part of this program, huge Thanks to Giant and Equipo Kern Pharma for the opportunities they’ve given me”, conclude Daniel about his experience.
