Equipo Kern Pharma to ride along with Giant
Spain’s newest UCI Continental team welcomes new core partner
Equipo Kern Pharma and Giant will join paths from 2020 on. The Taiwanese brand joins Spain’s newest UCI Continental team as a technical sponsor, supporting the outfit’s long-term plans.
Giant will provide the professional riders of the squad managed by Asociación Deportiva Galibier with TCR Advanced SL road bikes, equipped with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 groupset and components by Cadex, as well as with Pursuit helmets.
As for the time trial, Equipo Kern Pharma’s cyclists will use Trinity Advanced SL bikes, also set with Dura Ace Di2 and Cadex, with Rivet TT helmets.
“Adding Giant to our sporting project will enable us to use material on par with the best teams in the world,” says Team Manager, Juanjo Oroz. “Having a brand of this calibre by our side comes as a real luxury for such a young sporting project such as Equipo Kern Pharma.”
“Our aim is for our riders to reach their full potential, and we are positive that using the best gear will affect their performance for the better. As of now, our riders are very happy with the performance of Giant’s products, and our mechanics are pleased with its quality.”
“Getting to know personally Manolo Azcona and Juanjo Oroz has been instrumental to understand the values guiding this team,” says José Casla, CEO of Giant Ibérica.
“This partnership is a ground-breaking one for Giant, as this is the first time we sponsor a UCI Continental outfit unrelated to a World Tour one. The recruitment of Sergio Tu, the first-ever Taiwanese rider to compete for a Spanish team, is the icing of the cake for this ambitious project we undertake together with Equipo Kern Pharma.”
